They say big things come in small packages. True, that!
My friend never knew she was a poet until a bathroom incident brought out the poet in her.I read the poem and thought, "what a beautiful piece". For indeed it is.
Probably not the usual rhyming choruses you are used to hearing. I can guarantee that this is most certainly worth reading. Here it comes....enjoy.
THE WAR....
Inside me lives
The most charming, alluring, most daring
The darkest, scariest, most deceitful
She says if we want it, then it’s right
She leads me to self destruct
With her irresistible charm
Makes me do it again
Each time deeper into the mud
and laughing says
but it’s what we want
Inside me lives
The plainest, simplest, most timid
The strongest, the wisest, most brave
She says right is right
And it’s not always what we want
She emboldens me to walk away
She cleanses, she refreshes, she lifts me
Out the mire and into the clouds
And says it’s who we are meant to be
Every day the war rages on
Each battle yielding a different victor
But who will win the war?
It’s she that I arm
She that I empower the most
